Using the 5 love languages can help with improved communication and connection.

It's important for couples to identify how they experience love and connection and then communicate that information to their partner.

Expert tip: While one's primary love language doesn't tend to change, at various times in our lives different love languages can become more important. For example, if your primary love language is 'Words of Affirmation' and you've just experienced the death of a loved one, 'Physical Touch' or 'Quality Time' might become more attractive as you may long for a hug or just to be in the presence of someone you know cares.
